Additional Information:
On this trip, we'll be camping on/near Lake Allatoona, participating in the Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup service project, as well as offering a WAP (Webelos Activity Pin) opportunity for Webelos in Pack 002.
Cub Scouts and family members from Pack 002 are invited and encouraged to attend and camp with us. The Troop will be camping Friday and Saturday night; Cub Scout campers are welcome both nights or only one night, if they wish. Cub Scouts who aren't able to camp are welcome to come out early Saturday morning to participate in the cleanup and join us for lunch at noon, as well as the WAP the Troop will hold, (for eligible Webelos).
Cubs who come should plan to bring their own food for whatever meals they require, except for Saturday lunch, which will be provided by the Troop.
We will be meeting for departure at the Legacy Park Amphitheater parking lot at 6:00 pm on Friday evening, as usual. Please be on time, having already eaten dinner. We will load the trailer and vehicles, and head out by 6:30 pm, sharp.
Saturday morning, we will assemble everyone and hold a flag raising, and then all will be dismissed for breakfast.
At approximately 8:30 am, we will gather our gloves and trash bags and pick up trash around the shore of Lake Allatoona. Expect the cleanup to take about two hours.
When we return from the lake, Troop 002 will organize and begin teaching a WAP clinic (TBA, but probably Forestry) for all interested Webelos.
We will break from the WAP at about noon for lunch provided by the Troop, and then we will complete the WAP no later than 3:00 pm.
Saturday evening we will play games and explore the camp site. After dinner, we will lower the flags, and hold a campfire with skits and songs. Visiting Cub Scouts are welcome to participate.
Sunday morning, we will pack up and head out by about 9:00 am.
